Many Catholics have seen the portrait, but don’t know any details about devotion to the Divine Mercy.

Even less know about devotion to, or enthronement of, the Sacred Heart.  However, the beautiful reality is both devotions are connected to the same Heart of Jesus, and speak of His love and mercy.

Our Lord told St. Faustina, “My daughter, know that My Heart is mercy itself. From this sea of mercy, graces flow out upon the whole world. No soul that has approached Me has ever gone away unconsoled.” (Diary, 1777).

The Sacred Heart enables us to gain a deeper understanding of God’s infinite mercy and calls us to reparation, yet the Divine Mercy also calls us to live out that message to help bring hope to “a lost and dying world,” sometimes including members of our own extended or immediate family.

Michael Gaitley examine the history of the devotion to the Sacred Heart, the graces given from doing the Sacred Heart Enthronement, and how consecration to the Blessed Mother will help us develop a deeper love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
